We are expanding! Adding new classes means we are looking to add to our team of educators!

We currently are looking for highly creative and enthusiastic educators that want to engage students in a super awesome, alternative education environment in Bethel, Connecticut.


Available Positions:


Language Arts Educator

Ages: 12-14

Job Summary:

This experienced educator is responsible for contributing to our unique learning environment. Working to develop in each student: skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing and presentation that are fundamental to effective communication and literate citizenship; develops appreciation of good literature of all types; motivates students to read widely for information and recreation; develops standards for critical judgment of written and oral communications transmitted by mass media; and helps students to discover and develop their individual abilities. 

 Requirements:

  • Available to teach Tuesday and Thursday 9:30-12:30 in Bethel, Connecticut. Position is part-time independent contractor. Must carry personal liability insurance. 
  • Be comfortable teaching in a mask optional facility 
  • Must have at least 3 years of teaching experience
  • Willing to work with the Executive Director and education team on curriculum development
  • Works independently on lesson plans and supplemental materials
  • Understand different types of learning styles and feel comfortable teaching to varying levels of students within the same class
  • Able to think outside the box and provide students with a hands-on experience that integrates with the curriculum
  • Encourages students to think independently and to express original ideas
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive classroom environment
  • Identifies student needs and cooperates with education team members in assessing and helping students solve learning, health and attitude problems.
  • Communicates with the learning team and parents on student progress throughout the program year
  • Works with the education team to coordinate and attend Student Exhibition Night and other student events  
  • Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs, curriculum development meetings, and other professional activities as scheduled

General Education Educator

Ages: 5-7 or 8-11

Job Summary: Looking for an inspired educator to plan, coordinate, schedule, and work with the Executive Director and educational team to evaluate curriculum and instructional outcomes, create a secure and positive learning environment for all students, and be able to instruct in a variety of subjects and reach students with engaging lesson plans. Candidates must be high energy, full of positivity, sunshine, and rainbows! 

Requirements:
